Summer has finally arrived.

My soul comes alive when I spend time in God's creation.

The warmth of the sun, long evenings filled with light, and the beauty of the world around me remind me of His goodness. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a retreat near Colorado's Garden of the Gods. The brilliant blue sky against the towering red rock formations was breathtaking.

Moments like these naturally draw my heart toward worship and gratitude.

As I sat quietly taking in His creation, I sensed the Lord speaking one message over and over again.

Over the past several months, this invitation has been confirmed in so many ways—during my quiet time, through conversations with friends, in books, on social media, and through others who are hearing the same thing. God is calling His people back to intimacy with Him.

Not performance.

Not striving.

Not another Bible study to complete or another ministry to serve.

Jesus came so that we could experience abundant life—not just someday in heaven, but here and now. Yet many believers find themselves exhausted, wondering why joy feels distant. We become busy doing good things while unintentionally neglecting the greatest gift God offers: His presence.

Throughout Scripture, one beautiful theme continues to emerge—receiving.

Every chapter reveals something God desires to give His children. He offers wisdom, peace, grace, strength, comfort, direction, healing, and unconditional love. The invitation is not first to achieve these things but to receive them.

What if, instead of beginning each day with our to-do list, we began with a simple question?

It shifts our focus from striving to abiding. From self-reliance to dependence. From fleshly thinking to living by the Spirit.

This kind of relationship doesn't happen overnight.

It is cultivated one quiet moment at a time as we intentionally turn our hearts toward Him. We begin to recognize that we have already been given the mind of Christ. We learn to pause before reacting, to listen before speaking, and to receive before doing.

The more we practice this posture of receiving, the more we discover God's blueprint unfolding in our daily lives.

His guidance isn't reserved for life's biggest decisions. He delights in meeting us in ordinary moments—in conversations, work, relationships, and even unexpected challenges.

Every circumstance becomes an opportunity to ask, "Lord, what are You showing me here?"

What if this season isn't about accomplishing more?

What if it's about becoming more aware of the God who is already with you?

Take a few moments today to step outside if you can. Sit quietly. Listen. Receive.
